When American Jews (and Emma Lazurus) Demanded an End to Immigration

At one time, American Jews and Emma Lazurus, the famed author of the "Give us your humbled masses yearning to be free..." Statue of liberty poetess - actually petitioned the US Congress to halt immigration.

Poet Emma Lazarus asked Congress to ban immigration from Eastern Europe

We  happened upon this strange but true fact of American history in Ernest Van Den Haag's celebrated 1969 book, "The Jewish Mystique" (Dell Publishing, New York.)

Van Den Haag was a Dutch-born Jew, who emerged in the 60's as a prominent American sociologist, an academic of considerable renown and a conservative who became a regular writer in William F. Buckley's National Review.

On page 155 of his best selling book, Van den Haag wrote:

"German-American Jews went so far as to send a delegation to Washington to ask that the immigration of their co-religionists be slowed or stopped. And they assured each other that the East European Jews were "oriental", even of a different color. The poet, Emma Lazurus, although herself, descended from a Sephardic Jewish family, expressed the feelings of the German Jews, when she wrote:

"For the mass of semi-Orientals, Kabbalists and Chassidim who constitute the vast majority of East European Israelites, some more practical measure must be devised than their transportation to a state of society in the United States, utterly at variance with their customs and beliefs."

But today, immigration pimps, such as the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (which includes the Council for American Islamic Relations - amongst many other radical open-borders groups) regularly cite Emma Lazurus' poem (which was added to the statue of Liberty as and afterthought two decades after its construction) and regularly (and erroneously) try to characterize Emma Lazarus as an unabashed open borders type.

And, as we earlier chronicled, Jewish groups as the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, spend big bucks pimping for open US borders.

This has been part of the ongoing program to lie to the American people.

We can't blame Donald Trump for suggesting, that the whole game has been rigged.

And Emma Lazarus and the German Jews of an earlier generation, seemingly would agree with him.

Just as the immigration invasion has now become the #1 issue of concern to Republicans, per an August Gallup poll, the mega bucks, Illinois RINO running for Governor, Bruce Rauner, comes out publicly for amnesty for illegal aliens.

Rauner did that in a pandering op ed published in the HOY, Spanish language Chicago newspaper.

Not only did he come out for granting amnesty to illegal aliens, but he also trashed Republicans for opposing it:

"...some Republicans are downright hostile to immigrants, failing to recognize that America’s past, present, and future would not be nearly as bright and prosperous without our culture and heritage of immigration."

Rauner also repeated the mythological hogwash that Obama's administration has been deporting illegal aliens at a record rate. Even the LA Times exposed the fact that Obama & Co. had cooked the books on deportations, counting turnarounds at the border as "deportations."

But, no doubt spurred on by his lefty establishment GOP campaign operatives, Rauner blathered out that little bit of Democrat propaganda.

As we reported several weeks ago, Bruce Rauner and his lefty Jewish wife, Diana, have been big financial contributors to the open borders, pro amnesty immigration lobby group, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.

So make no mistake about it. Bruce Rauner is an open borders, pro amnesty, cheap labor immigration pimp.

The good news is that increasing numbers of voters on the rightward edges of both parties are getting wise to Rauner's "liberal in drag" persona.

Many are going to simply stay at home on election day.

Some will throw away their Gubernatorial vote on the Libertarian Governor candidate, Chad Grimm, who's now polling 6% in statewide polls.

And some of the aggrieved right to lifers and family values voters are even talking about casting a strategic vote for Democrat Pat Quinn. That recently ignited a huge controversy in the Illinois Review.

What is becoming clear, is that Bruce Rauner's pandering better get him lots of Latino voters legal and otherwise.

With conservatives deserting Rauner in droves, he's going to need his amigos down in Pilsen and Little Village voting early and often.

Rauner Major Donor To Illegal Alien Advocacy Group

A plaque in suburban Lincolnwood erected by the extreme pro-immigrant Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) of Chicago celebrates Illinois Gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner and his wife, Diana among its major donors.

That group, regularly works in tandem with the pro-illegal alien lobby, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR).

On its website, the HIAS, itself, supports S.744, the discredited Senate illegal alien amnesty bill, which has even been repudiated by Sen. Marco Rubio and other Republicans from the Senate "Gang of 8", who helped craft it.

The plaque which celebrates Rauner's financial largess, prominently quotes leftist Federal Judge, Richard Posner, a frequent critic of conservatives, a former clerk to ultra-liberal Supreme Ct. Justice, William Brennan and major supporter of abortionist practices.

On the plaque, Posner, who once referred to conservatives as "goofy," is quoted with a general endorsement of all immigrants and immigration to the US -- essentially open borders.

The plaque was erected in 2012 as part of a gushy pro-immigration monument which graces the entrance to Lincolnwood, Illinois' Centennial park at the corner of Pratt Avenue and McCormick Blvd in that northern suburb of Chicago.

Rauner, an ostensible Republican, who's pumped millions into his own campaign, has apparently begun to worry about the absence of fervor amongst Illinois conservatives for his candidacy.

Well, hey, Brucie -- if you expect to weasel around on issue after issue, trying to be all things to all voters -- it's generally best to not have your left-wing sympathies etched in stone.

Lincolnwood And Radical Jewish Immigration Lobby Pave Paradise to Praise Immigrants

All summer, the Village of Lincolnwood has been working hard to transform its portion of the MWRD sewerage canal park into a vast concrete parking lot.

Bulldozers have been energetically ripping up grass and knocking down trees in the bucolic setting along McCormick Blvd. between Touhy and Devon and filling it in with Stalinesque quantities of concrete.

To further this aesthetic end, Lincolnwood joined a radical Jewish immigrant's lobby group in erecting two concrete memorials there extolling the joys of unfettered immigration.

On June 21st, the new "Ain't All Immigrants Great!" monuments went up at the point where the park meets Pratt Ave, amidst a gala celebration.

 Oddly, the immigrant lobby group involved kind of downplayed its own name on the memorials. It almost appeared as if they were trying to camouflage their involvement.

The group in question is the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. But nowhere on either of the 2 "Ain't All Immigrants Great!" plaques erected in the park does their name appear, just a cryptic reference to the fine work of "HIAS."

One of the concrete slabs contains the basic mantra used by the illegal alien lobby as a smokescreen for their amnesty push.

Its inscription quotes one Judge Posner of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals (apparently Judge Wapner was unavailable) as saying:

"We are a nation of immigrants, built by immigrants and continually enriched by the flow of immigrants."

Real nice sounding words, but they omit the reality that a mere 20 years after 1912, when the Hebrew Immigrant's Aid Society began assisting immigrants, Congress found it best to enact a de facto moratorium on immigration. The US economy, they reasoned, did not need scads of cheap laborers during the height of the Great Depression.

And those fine words omit mention of the fact that during earlier waves of immigration, the emigres required sponsors who would assume economic responsibility for them if they should become destitute -- no Food Stamps, Section 8 housing vouchers or SSI paychecks like today.

And, of course, those fine words omit mention of the fact that earlier waves of immigrants came legally -- under the eye of US officials who screened them for such things as contagious disease and criminal behavior.

The Lincolnwood government-sanctioned feel-good  propagandizing in cement should really come as no big surprise, considering the source.


It turns out that the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society is a full-blown member of the radical illegal alien lobby, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights.

These are the very same fine folks who have spent the last 25 years making Chicago and Cook County "sanctuary cities" for illegal aliens, pushing the so-called "Dream Act" to give taxpayer-subsidized in-state tuition to illegals and banging the drums for outright amnesty of the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens in our midst.

And in this election year, with the illegal alien issue moving to the forefront of the national debate, the lunkheads in the Lincolnwood Village government see nothing at all amiss about staging an "Aint All Immigrants Great!" dog and pony show, in cahoots with a radical Jewish immigrant lobby outfit, complete with a tax-supported permanent monument on public ground.

The Chicago Tribune recently did a multi-part report on numerous illegal alien felons who have committed atrocious crimes - rapes, murders, etc. - while in "sanctuary city" Chicago, jumped bail and then hotfooted it back across the border to reside in complete anonymity and safety there.

This very Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society lobby was part of the larger coalition that stopped Chicago judges from treating immigrants as a flight risk. They were instrumental in making sure that even felons weren't allowed to be queried on their immigration status after arrest.

At the dedication ceremony for the monument, the chief honcho of the stealth Hebrew Immigrants' lobby, one Suzanne Franklin, glowingly and quite peculiarly compared immigrants to trees.

"Trees are like immigrants who come to this country," she babbled. "Their roots grow deep, they enrich the earth and they become tall and plentiful, a canopy that shelters us and makes our world stronger and more vibrant," she swooned.

And of course, let's never utter a discouraging word about the possibility of Dutch Elm disease or the Emerald Ash borer, right Lincolnwood?
