Skokie's Tsunami of Violent Crimes: Black Males Sought In All

Last week a Cook County grand jury charged a Skokie man with 4 counts of attempted murder for firing off eight shots at a passing carload of people in downtown Skokie during the evening rush hour.

This is just the latest in a tsunami of violent incidents that have occurred in that once tranquil Northern Chicago suburb since the end of April.

Additionally there have been a series of violent robberies of Skokie residents and most recently a racially motivated assault on a white couple in a Skokie park.

In all of the recent incidents, the suspects are black males.

The rash of violence prompted Skokie officials to hastily convoke a June 14th public forum where they sought to assuage growing citizen fears. Noticeably absent from the meeting was Skokie's usually publicity hungry mayor, George Van Dusen, former longtime aide to liberal Democrat Congressman Sidney Yates.

At the forum, Skokie's new police chief, Anthony Scarpelli asserted that crime was really down in the suburban village, that the suspected downtown shooter, a Skokie resident, despite having clearly African features, was not really an African American and was not a Section 8 low-income housing subsidee.

Nevertheless a survey taken at the event revealed that 62% of Skokie residents "believe they are less safe after dark in their own neighborhood."

While the tempo of violent crime in Skokie has reached a fever pitch this Spring and early Summer , apparently it has been going on for a while. Last year these similar incidents occured:

At an earlier public forum, Skokie residents blamed the new violent crime wave on the politically liberal suburb's encouragement and acceptance of federally subsidized Section 8 low-income housing vouchers, which have become prevalent in some of Skokie's seedier neighborhoods which abut its central business district.

Skokie's liberal political elites have long encouraged racial integration and settlement of low income residents there.

The Government of Niles Township, of which Skokie is the principal municipality,  contributed taxpayer funds to the Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs, a Saul Alinsky-styled community organizing group, which agitates for more low income housing in Chicago's suburbs.

And the Skokie Human Relations Commission, an agency of the Village government, is listed as a member of the group.

I know this because I happened to pick up the June 21st issue of Rolling Stone magazine.

And I have to tell you, Rolling Stone is beginning to look an awful lot like Modern Maturity or the AARP Newsletter.

The magazine -- once considered must reading for the cool and the wannabe cool -- now seems like it would be right at home on the coffee table of a geriatric clinic waiting room.

It seems hellbent on appealing to readers who are as afraid of losing their hips as they are of losing their hipness.

Look at who Rolling Stone profiled in this issue: a grey, balding Neil Young (someone ought to tell him that a day's growth of white facial hair is not cool), a granny-looking Madonna, Mick Jagger (who in his 70s is beginning to look an awful lot like Barney Fife) and, of course, the septuagenarian Beach Boys.

It also featured pictures of a quite shriveled Bob Dylan receiving a medal from Obama and looking like he is impatient for the waiter at the diner to bring his soup -- and semi-shriveled Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood doing some creepy old head butt greeting from their Faces days.

And the cover of the Rolling Stone doesn't seem to be the cover of the Rolling Stone anymore.

This one featured that young whippersnapper, Charlie Sheen. Not really known for his clean living and health food obsessions, the years have not been kind to young Charles.

On the cover, Charley, 47, face pock marked and lined, is puckering on a Marlboro and sporting a sagging t-shirt. He could readily pass for a 57 year old grammar school janitor, not exactly everybody's idea of young, hip.

But anyway, this edition devoted a full 7 page photo spread to the ongoing Beach Boys anniversary tour (they played 2 nights at the Chicago Theater in May)  and I have to say it was kind of sad.

The Beach Boys, to my mind, captured and epitomized the youthful energy of the 60s, more than just about any other musical entity.

And today they are pictured, sitting in a diner over cheeseburgers, like so many Seal Beach retirees at the early bird special. They look really old and it is sad.

The Beach Boys actually promoted their reunion tour by performing on a QVC shopping network show -- their performance on the small set was pretty bad and the mere fact that they were at such a low-life venue was really sad.

What? Do these guys really need the money that badly?

When crooners like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett continued performing well into their golden years there was nothing odd or incongruous about it. They were adults who always had performed adult music.

But rock and 60s/70s pop were the anthemic music of youth. Energy was the hallmark. And when the over-the-hill gang hangs on after much of the energy has dissipated and the youthful looks have faded, it just seems kind of wrong.

Two years ago, the Swedish pop supergroup ABBA was offered a cool $1 billion to do a reunion tour. At the insistence of the 2 girls, Agnetha and Anna Frida, they declined.

ABBA passed up all that cash, because to them it was better to stay fixed in the popular mind -- like Garbo -- as they were in their beautiful prime.

If economic necessity isn't an issue, it would be nice if more of the old rock 'n roll greats would be so prudent.

In fact, I heard that during the Chicago stop on the Beach Boys tour, a groupie went up to Brian Wilson, took one look at him and said: "I'd invite you to come upstairs and have sex with me, but I doubt that you could manage either."

Cook County Morgue Scandal: Follow the Money

Finding a Chicago Ward or Township committeeman of either party with a common sense solution to a public policy matter is about as rare as a Wrigley Field game date in October.

But Niles Township Republican Committeeman, Joe Hedrick, is one of those very rare political operatives who actually embraces ideals and actually has ideas.

In the wake of the recent spate of scandals surrounding unburied indigent corpses at the Cook County Morgue, Hedrick penned the following letter which the Chicago Tribune, duly printed:

I find it hard to understand with all the scandals in connection with the burials by the Cook County government why there are burials. It would be cost-effective and eliminate many of the current problems to do cremations of these individuals.

I think we are well past the time when cremations were unacceptable.

Why this patently obvious common sense solution did not occur to the vaunted Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinckle or any of the members of the Cook County Board defies comprehension.

Or does it?

Homewood Memorial Gardens in unincorporated Cook County holds a long-standing contract with the state whereby it is paid $1,600 for each public burial it performs.

It is owned by the politically connected Thomas Flynn family.

But cremation costs as little as $555.

The Flynns do not operate a crematorium.

As with everything in Chicago, if you really want to figure out what is going on, follow the money.

Lincolnwood And Radical Jewish Immigration Lobby Pave Paradise to Praise Immigrants

All summer, the Village of Lincolnwood has been working hard to transform its portion of the MWRD sewerage canal park into a vast concrete parking lot.

Bulldozers have been energetically ripping up grass and knocking down trees in the bucolic setting along McCormick Blvd. between Touhy and Devon and filling it in with Stalinesque quantities of concrete.

To further this aesthetic end, Lincolnwood joined a radical Jewish immigrant's lobby group in erecting two concrete memorials there extolling the joys of unfettered immigration.

On June 21st, the new "Ain't All Immigrants Great!" monuments went up at the point where the park meets Pratt Ave, amidst a gala celebration.

 Oddly, the immigrant lobby group involved kind of downplayed its own name on the memorials. It almost appeared as if they were trying to camouflage their involvement.

The group in question is the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. But nowhere on either of the 2 "Ain't All Immigrants Great!" plaques erected in the park does their name appear, just a cryptic reference to the fine work of "HIAS."

One of the concrete slabs contains the basic mantra used by the illegal alien lobby as a smokescreen for their amnesty push.

Its inscription quotes one Judge Posner of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals (apparently Judge Wapner was unavailable) as saying:

"We are a nation of immigrants, built by immigrants and continually enriched by the flow of immigrants."

Real nice sounding words, but they omit the reality that a mere 20 years after 1912, when the Hebrew Immigrant's Aid Society began assisting immigrants, Congress found it best to enact a de facto moratorium on immigration. The US economy, they reasoned, did not need scads of cheap laborers during the height of the Great Depression.

And those fine words omit mention of the fact that during earlier waves of immigration, the emigres required sponsors who would assume economic responsibility for them if they should become destitute -- no Food Stamps, Section 8 housing vouchers or SSI paychecks like today.

And, of course, those fine words omit mention of the fact that earlier waves of immigrants came legally -- under the eye of US officials who screened them for such things as contagious disease and criminal behavior.

The Lincolnwood government-sanctioned feel-good  propagandizing in cement should really come as no big surprise, considering the source.


It turns out that the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society is a full-blown member of the radical illegal alien lobby, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights.

These are the very same fine folks who have spent the last 25 years making Chicago and Cook County "sanctuary cities" for illegal aliens, pushing the so-called "Dream Act" to give taxpayer-subsidized in-state tuition to illegals and banging the drums for outright amnesty of the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens in our midst.

And in this election year, with the illegal alien issue moving to the forefront of the national debate, the lunkheads in the Lincolnwood Village government see nothing at all amiss about staging an "Aint All Immigrants Great!" dog and pony show, in cahoots with a radical Jewish immigrant lobby outfit, complete with a tax-supported permanent monument on public ground.

The Chicago Tribune recently did a multi-part report on numerous illegal alien felons who have committed atrocious crimes - rapes, murders, etc. - while in "sanctuary city" Chicago, jumped bail and then hotfooted it back across the border to reside in complete anonymity and safety there.

This very Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society lobby was part of the larger coalition that stopped Chicago judges from treating immigrants as a flight risk. They were instrumental in making sure that even felons weren't allowed to be queried on their immigration status after arrest.

At the dedication ceremony for the monument, the chief honcho of the stealth Hebrew Immigrants' lobby, one Suzanne Franklin, glowingly and quite peculiarly compared immigrants to trees.

"Trees are like immigrants who come to this country," she babbled. "Their roots grow deep, they enrich the earth and they become tall and plentiful, a canopy that shelters us and makes our world stronger and more vibrant," she swooned.

And of course, let's never utter a discouraging word about the possibility of Dutch Elm disease or the Emerald Ash borer, right Lincolnwood?

CTA Crime Skyrockets - Top Cop Says "Stick Head in Sand"

In a rare show of journalistic competence, The Chicago Tribune  Saturday published statistics that show that crime aboard Chicago Transit Authority trains and buses has been skyrocketing over the past two years.

The Tribune had to laboriously compile the stats themselves since the Chicago Police Department doesn't collect CTA specific crime stats. That, you see, might make people think taking Chicago public transportation might be a bit on the perilous side.

According the the Tribune report, they'd be quite right.

According to the report, between 2009 and 2011 there were 10,759 crimes against passengers on CTA trains or platforms reported and 5,457 on CTA buses or at bus stops.

Over the period studied, forceful robberies of CTA riders increased 69% to more than 800 a year. Your run-of-the-mill, just plain theft was up 42%, to almost 2,000 a year and batteries on the CTA rose 15%.

As I said, the Tribune had to laboriously comb thru crime reports themselves to come up with this, so of course, they neglected to breakdown the assailants and the victims by race.

With the Libune, racial identities of perp and victim are reserved for the odd "hate crime" when, for instance, a white suburban woman said something nasty to a Moslem female and tugged on her facial scarf.

The question, however, is a fair one when you consider the June 14th report of the incident where a young white family was terrorized on a CTA train by a gang of black youths who took the wife's cell phone and beat the man senseless.

But the funniest part of the Tribune's CTA crime report was the response of Capt. Thomas Lemmer, chief of the Chicago Police's mass transit crime unit.

This jamoke actually said that it was good that more CTA riders were taking their expensive electronic devices onto trains and buses and openly using them there.

These, of course, are the items that are the targets of most CTA highwaymen and thieves.

"That (openly using your expensive device on the CTA) is a huge part of driving down the numbers of crimes," he said. "You want the community to be both safe in reality and to believe they are safe, because both feed off each other."

HUH?

Now I studied Aristotelian logic in Prep School and symbolic logic at the university level and this is a new one on me.

It seems to be something like: "I pretend I am safe, therefore I am safe."

That, of course, is sheer idiocy.

Reminds one of the famous malapropism of the late Chicago Mayor, Richard J. Daley, when he uttered: "The Chicago Police aren't here to create disorder. They're here to preserve disorder."

Woody Guthrie: Consummate Coward and Fraud

This year is the centennial marking 100 years since the birth of folk singer, Woody Guthrie. Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music is bringing in Guthrie's 62 year old daughter, Nora and a gaggle of other lefty folk musicians for a June 30th 100th Birthday celebration concert.

Other commemorations are taking place elsewhere in the country throughout the year.

In the popular American mind, the Oklahoma born guitar picker has something of a benign image. After all, he wrote nice tunes, some of which have been sung by generations of elementary student school chorales.

He wrote simple tunes extolling the simplicity of the American West like, On the Trail of the Buffalo and Oklahoma Hills, not to mention the ever popular folk classic, This Land is Your Land.

But the fact is, Woody Guthrie was a coward who did everything possible to shirk his military obligation during the perilous time of World War II.

And he was a fraud who while cowering in the face of an 1-A draft classification, went sashaying around with a guitar proclaiming "This machine kills fascists."

And while it was never definitively proven that he was a member of the Stalin-era Communist Party of the USA, he wrote a regular column for their newspaper, The Daily Worker, and played and partied with just about every card-carrying American communist in sight.

In 1939 and 1940, while brave young men from England were actually off killing fascists and putting their young lives on the line, Guthrie was living in a Greenwich Village commune with the execrable Pete Seeger and a group of other lefties who called themselves the Almanac Singers.

Initially Guthrie helped write and sing what the Almanac Singers termed "peace" songs; while the Nazi-Soviet Pact was in effect. Until Hitler invaded the Soviet Union, the Communist party line was that World War II was a capitalist fraud and Woody and Seeger dutifully echoed that sentiment in song.

But they changed their tune overnight, when in June 1941, Hitler pulled a fast one on his pal, ally and fellow mass murderer, Josef Stalin and invaded Communist Russia.

After Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union, gone were Guthrie and Seeger's "peace" songs. These intellectually dishonest and dissembling frauds -- friends of International Communism all, turned on a dime, and then began churning out anti-fascist songs, beating the war drums for US military involvement.

And fearless young Woody Guthrie began parading around with a guitar emblazoned with the phrase, "This machine kills fascists."

After the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on the US (funny Woody never geared up his fearsome guitar to kill Japanese imperialists) the call up of American young men to serve in the armed forces began in earnest.

And young able-bodied Guthrie did everything imaginable to avoid having to serve his country in the military where he actually might have had the opportunity to kill fascists. That, you see, might have been hazardous to young Woody's health.

Besides, in 1941, 29 year old Woody Guthrie was pulling down $180 dollars a week (the equivalent of $144k a year in today's dollars) hosting a radio show for the Model Tobacco Company. Anti-capitalism is one thing in theory, but that's a lot of scratch to pass up to go out killing fascists.

So fearless Woody tried to persuade the USO to take him on as an entertainer so that his fascist-killing guitar could do its deadly work.

The USO and his draft board said nuts to that.

So faced with the scary prospect of having to don Army green, grab a rifle and actually go out where fascists might be shooting at him with live ammo, the fearless Woody signed on as a cook for the Merchant Marine.

To be sure, there was some marginal danger in slinging hash in a warm ship's galley. You could always slip on a greasy kitchen floor and break something. But it was a far cry from freezing in the foxholes of Bastogne while dodging Nazi bullets or wading ashore on a tropical beach into the face of torrid Japanese machine gun fire.

That is what other young men of Guthrie's generation were doing. They were the ones who honestly and often fearlessly fought fascists. And many of them did not come home.

It is quite amusing to read the comments posted on the YouTube videos of Woody Guthrie's songs. They seem to be home to mostly neo-Communists who extol Guthrie's fearless defense of the oppressed American worker. Some comments overtly extol the International Socialism with which com-symp Woody Guthrie was so enamoured.

Parroting the "Occupy Wall Street" line the comments invariably trash American corporations.

But in the early 1940s, it was the Chrysler corporation who made the tanks, GMC who made the tanks and the trucks, the the Ford Motor Company who made the aircraft, tanks and jeeps, Remington who made the guns and a variety of smaller American corporations who made everything from gloves for aviators to electronics for radar.

Those corporations, so maligned by Woody Guthrie's leftist idolaters, were the ones who made the machines which killed fascists.

Skokie's "SCompton" Section 8 Ghettos

The pious pontificators at the Skokie Human Relations Commission can drone on and on all they want about the wonders of Skokie's newfound "diversity." And they can wallow in denial over the relationship between Section 8 federally subsidized low-income housing and Skokie's new crime wave.

But the kids seem to know better.

In the wake of our last article on the 2 violent muggings in Skokie, we've received a lot of correspondence and among the things we've learned are:

--Skokie kids refer to the areas just South of the Downtown Oakton business district and just East of Skokie Blvd. between Oakton and Main Sts. as "SCompton." A play on the words Skokie and Compton -- referring to the crime ridden, gang infested California city of that name.

--A Morton Grove policeman who lives near the Skokie border tells us that it is common knowledge in police circles that Skokie has an inordinate amount of Section 8 housing and that it has been fueling increased criminal activity there.

--A Fairview resident tells us that there has been a flurry of home robberies there in recent months yet not a word about it in the Skokie newspapers or from the Skokie police or village government.

And yet a Skokie Human Relations sycophant writes us demanding statistics proving a direct correlation between Skokie's subsidized housing and Skokie's increased crime.

The fact is that you would be hard pressed to find any agency or academic entity -- most of which are dominated by liberals -- to compile statistics that might prove embarrassing to their pet diversity initiatives.

But the kids and the cops are close to the ground.

They have their eyes open.

And they're not demanding abstruse statistical studies on the correlation between Skokie's Section 8 housing and Skokie's crime wave.

Violent Street Crime Hits Suburban Skokie: Section 8 Housing Blamed

North suburban Skokie has been called a lot of things over the years. Folk music great and onetime childhood resident, Steve Goodman called it "tacky and uptight." Syndicated columnist Sidney Harris described the Dempster street corridor as " the ugliest commercial strip in America."

But it has never been called a violent place -- until recently.

 Over an 8 day period in late April, 2 Skokie residents were violently assaulted and robbed on the streets there.

 And more than a few residents of that ultra-liberal enclave have begun to question the wisdom of the suburb's new found diversity and the profusion of new Section 8 low-income tenants there.

 Both attacks occurred in the general vicinity of a bloc of multi unit dwellings in an area between Oakton and Main Streets, just East of Skokie Boulevard. The two-flats and semi-detached duplexes there were cheaply thrown up in the early 60s. They were a bit tawdry at the time and more so today.

Over recent decades, some cheap-buck-artist landlords began buying them up. More than of few of these squires were more than happy to accept the quick cash offered by the federal goverment's low-income Section 8 vouchers. As a result, the standards for Skokie residence have, you might say, lowered a bit.

More than a few of these New Skokians were, until recently denizens of the now bulldozed Chicago public housing projects. One of them, a certain, Stanton Demaret, was indicted for mob action and assault in the August 2011 Chicago flash mob attacks.

 The persons sought for the recent Skokie street attacks have been identified as "black men in their 20s."

\ In the April 20th attack, a middle aged woman was slashed with an ice pick and robbed of $500 outside the 7-11 at Main and Skokie Blvd. In the April 28th attack, a 54 year old man was beaten senseless by 2 suspects, his jaw and teeth broken and robbed of $250 on nearby Louise St.

 The liberal-left Skokie voters were always big on big-government social action and "diversity." Now they don't know quite what to make of their new violent crime reality.

 Some have been questioning the wisdom of living in the midst of so much Section 8 housing. How uncomfortable that must be for Jan Schakowsky and Barack Obama liberals.

 Several years back, the Skokie Village government issued an automobile sticker with the uplifting slogan, "Celebrating our Diversity." One wonders who's really celebrating now.

Black Racists Attack White Kid In Oak Park While NU Nitwits Parse Words For PC

Last Friday, black thug Alton Hayes III and his black teen sidekick robbed and beat a white kid senseless in Oak Park because they were upset with the Trayvon Martin case. The two were exercising black racial revenge indiscriminately against any random "white boy," as they called their victim.

At the very same moment, a dimwitted Northwestern University undergrad by the name of Dan Camponovo, who bears an uncanny resemblence to Flounder from the classic movie Animal House , was agonizing on the pages of the Daily Northwestern over the racism inherent in the term, "shady."

If you need further proof that the leftist academy has entirely lost its mind, just take a look at the imbecilic maunderings of this white boy Camponovo.

Young Camponovo was aghast when he overheard a person on the El refer to the area around White Sox park as a "shady neighborhood."

The sensitive NU lad somehow conjured up the notion that "shade" was somewhere in the misty past a pejorative term for negroes, hence in Camponovo's new PC world, we can no longer use the term shady without causing great offense.

I guess you can then add that to the term "niggardly." A Maryland teacher was fired for using that proper English word, derived from the Nordic, hnøggr, meaning stingy, during a discussion of school funding.

Lithuanians on the Southwest side used to refer to blacks as "smokes." So I guess Camponovo and his co-religionists will now mount a crusade to purge our language of the use of smoke, smokey and smoke-filled room.

Heaven knows the psychic agony that use of such words could cause to tender African-American sensibilities.

At least as much as the physical agony suffered by an innocent white kid who was robbed and beaten within an inch of his life by two black racists -- egged on by the likes of malevolent knucklebrains like the Daily Northwestern's Camponovo.

The Chicago Tribune is really getting to be a truly execrable newspaper. Hours after ABC News released exclusive photos of accused gunman, George Zimmerman's bloodied head, corroborating his statement that he was attacked by the black teen he shot, the Tribune continued its sensational coverage pandering to the black victimization crowd.

And just as leftist Law Professor, Alan Dershowitz, was calling the prosecution "immoral and stupid" and possibly illegal if the bloodied photos of Zimmerman were covered up, the Tribune posted a 1:17 pm update mentioning neither the ABC evidence nor Dershowitz's devastating comments.

I was only one among many who suspected that the lamestream media's hoopla and readiness to cheer on the black race hustlers' cries for "justice" was yet another media lynching of a white man (Zimmerman is white and Latino) in the same vein as the Duke University Lacrosse Team travesty and the Tawana Brawley fiasco.

The Chicago Tribune has been so blatantly remiss and dissembling in its coverage of the George Zimmerman case - fanning the fires of a rush to judgment - that it really doesn't deserve to be taken at all seriously any more.

 Isn't it time that the largely elderly, white, center-right demographic that still have the Chicago Tribune delivered to their doorsteps cancel their subscriptions en masse? Who will organize this?

Austria In Economic Free Fall, Embraces US Ghetto Culture

This past January, Standard and Poor's downgraded the Central European nation of Austria's credit rating for the first time ever.

Little Austria is quickly beginning to resemble Greece and Portugal, the economic basket cases of Europe. In fact it is well on its way to having all the economic decrepitude of our own Detroit, the economic basket case of the US, where unsalable houses and factories are being torn down to make way for farm land.

It is doing that by sending a ridiculous hip-hop group, appropriately named Trackshittaz, to represent it in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, performing an elegant little number called, Woki mit deim Popo (Shake Your Ass.)

Days before the 2008 Austrian elections, the SPO pushed a big social spending package, abolishing all college tuition and fees, promulgating a costly nursing care giveaway and a basket of other cash goodies for families.

Mothers in Austria now get 4 months paid maternity leave and 3 years of cash handouts. That should come as a real boon to all those Moslem immigrant mothers in Austria who seem to be the only ones having children there these days.

The annual event is being held right now in that renowned tourist mecca, Baku, Azerbaijan.

This is a big deal in Europe with, they claim, more than a billion TV sets tuned in to see the best musical act each nation has to offer.

ABBA and Celine Dion first came to public attention via this event.

And Trackshittaz, an essentially, albeit unintentionally, comic attempt to mimic low-life American black culture, is the best Austria could come up with.

Take a look at the video. Honestly, it looks like a Saturday Night Live parody of Hans and Franz doing a hip-hop routine.

So Austria is mirroring its economic decline with patent evidence of its cultural decline.

I think Austria is just giving us a little glimpse of what pop culture must have been like during the pre-Hitlerite, German Weimar Republic years.

Chicago Illegal Alien Lobby Now Endorsing Candidates

It was really only a matter of time. First the illegal alien apologists at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) told us that the illegals were just here to do jobs that Americans won't do.

Then they made it all about the children. You don't want to heartlessly send their poor kiddies home, do you?

Then they got a bit bolder. You wouldn't want to heartlessly deprive the poor kiddies of a taxpayer supported college education, would you?

But finally we've gotten down to the real goal of the leftist illegal alien lobby -- to influence our elections. More precisely, to permanently secure power for liberal left Democrats with the aid of a welfare dependent 3rd world lumpen proletariat voting bloc.

And to further this end, the Grand High Priest of Chicago's tax-exempt illegal alien lobby, Joshua Hoyt, is now openly endorsing candidates.

Just before the March 20th Illinois primary, voters in Lincoln Park, Wicker Park and Bucktown were sent a campaign piece touting the virtues of State Senate candidate, Patricia van Pelt-Watkins.

You may remember her as the fringe candidate in last years' mayoral election who became famous for being called a "crack-head" by Carol Mosely Braun during the mayoral debates.

On Miss van Pelt Watkins' campaign brochure were listed a number of endorsements -- Dawn Clark Netsch, The Brady Anti-gun PAC, the IVI-IPO -- the usual liberal suspects. But then at the end of the list of endorsers was a lone cryptic name, sans affiliation -- "Josh Hoyt."

Lily white, WASP, Hoyt, the longtime director of the illegals' lobby group thought it would look better if an actual Latino immigrant were nominally in charge so he nominally stepped aside and now pulls the strings of his immigrant puppets using the title of ICIRR Chief Strategy Executive.

Unable to directly bring his non-profit 501(c)3 ICIRR illegal alien lobby legally into the fray, Hoyt has taken to the simple expedient of marking the pro-illegal alien candidate with his own personal endorsement.

It is clearly on the margins of the law, but what has this advocate of illegal alien lawbreakers ever done that was clearly within the confines of the law?

The Catholic Church used to signify approved books with something called an imprimatur.

Lincolnwood Voters Say Nuts To Leona Helmsley-Like, High-Life Education Elite

Little suburban Lincolnwood (pop. 11,700) hasn't been a Republican voting town for a long time. It regularly votes liberal Dems into office, although not with quite as much gusto as its seedy neighbor to the North, Skokie, or its city jobholder-laden Sauganash and Edgebrook Chicago neighborhoods to the South.

But in last Tuesday's elections, Lincolnwood residents displayed a contempt for government elites more in line with Barrington tea-partiers than anything seen in that vicinity in a very long time.

By a whopping 91.07% margin Lincolnwood voters told their corrupt education elites that there was no way in hell they were going to vote them a $25 million tax windfall.

And for good measure, by a hefty 65.1% margin they told their Village government elites that they weren't at all interested in ceding their long-standing right to elect their own Village Clerk. Their mayor wanted to give appointive powers for that post to a gaggle of political insiders.

What spurred the uncharacteristic Lincolnwood anti-government backlash was the blatant arrogance of the village's School District 74 education establishment.

The elected school board, in cahoots with the education bureaucracy contrived to build a new multi-million dollar middle school without going to the taxpayers for approval.

They engaged in legal shenanigans by planning a covered walkway from the existing school to another building so that the demolition and reconstruction would be considered repairs to an existing building.

A taxpayers group filed suit to demand a referendum on the proposed $25 million project and it forced the education monopoly to relent.

To top this, the Lincolnwood grass roots activists filed dozens of freedom of information requests which were grudgingly honored by the educ-establishment and, lo and behold, they discovered a morass of big money abuses.

In short, they discovered the education establishment living high on the hog on their hard-earned dime. Among other things the FOI documents disclosed:

-- A 2011 Cadillac CTS leased for the school superintendent, Mark Klaisner

-- An insurance claim for $1,968 to repair rear-end damage done to the superintendent's Cadillac

-- $4,400 in gas charges made by the superintendent for his Cadillac

-- A $14,000, 16 person trip to Orlando, that included a visit to the John F. Kennedy Space Station

-- A $13,500 trip to San Francisco that included a $600 dinner tab (complete with 6 bottles of wine, probably not Mad Dog 20/20) for four people

>-- School board President David Koder charging $139 limousine rides to O'Hare airport from his Lincolnwood home before flying first-class on the San Francisco education junket, where he then charged taxpayers $100 for "Grandview breakfasts" in his high-end hotel suite.

In the face of the growing Lincolnwood citizen furor, the local education establishment acted as if this was simply a very natural, normal state of affairs.

They defended the school superintendent's free gas and Caddy by bleating that the poor guy deserves it, because his $200k annual salary is less than that pulled down by some nearby Skokie education bureaucrats.

Rather like saying Baby Face Nelson can't be blamed because John Dillinger raked in a whole lot more boodle.

And the School Board President, "Diamond Dave" Koder, justified his taxpayer subsidized, Leona Helmsley-like spending lifestyle saying that no one ran against him last time, so he had to take the job.

"There was nobody else to fill my seat," Koder bleated. "I won't be seeking reelection next year because I know I'm not going to win," he said.

Boy he sure got that straight.

David Axelrod's Communist and Commie-Inspired Mentors

David Axelrod, the Chicago-based political operative who serves as Barack Obama's Svengali has long been rumored to be a "Red diaper baby," i.e. one brought up from childhood by Communist parents and mentors.

Now, Paul Kengor a professor of political science at Grove City College has published an exhaustive analysis of Axelrod's mentorship by people with strong Communist Party USA ties, including one who was brought by his American Communist family to live in Stalin-era USSR and who was later deemed an agent of the Soviet Union by an arm of the US Congress.

The 12 page article appears as the cover story of the March issue of the American Spectator and it makes for riveting reading.

Axelrod got his start as a big-time reporter for the Chicago Tribune on the recommendation of leftist Don Rose. Axelrod had previously worked for the Hyde Park-Kenwood Voices, a local paper owned by Rose and David Canter, the Soviet educated son of overt American Communists, who was himself deemed a Soviet agent by the Democrat-controlled Congress of the 60s.

These were the people who forged Axelrod, the man who whispers in Obama's ear.

The American Spectator article is likely the most in-depth look at the Communist influences on Obama's key operative that will appear in print.

It analyzes everything from Axelrod's mother's work for the communist infiltrated New York PM publication to his own key role in electing Harold Washington Chicago's mayor.

It is well worth reading. Especially since the Chicago Tribune, New York Times and Washington Post regularly do puff pieces on Obama's guru without even hinting at facts which point to his undeniably deeply red roots.

West Northfield SD 31 Annual Tax Hike Ploy: Teachers' Salaries Listed

Listed below are the names and 2011 salaries of the teachers and administrators of West Northfield School District 31.

You will note that despite the educational establishment's pleas of poverty, they were strangely able to give all their teachers nice hefty little pay hikes over the previous year (we posted last years' salaries here during the last tax hike contratemps - this years' are posted below, whereby you can note the increases.)

This is the little North suburban, Chicago area elementary school district whose education establishment seems to annually try to squeeze more cash out of its cash-strapped residents with tax hike referenda.

They keep getting swatted down by recession-beleaguered taxpayers who've had quite enough. By a 2 to 1 margin the people did that just this past year.

But here they go again!

On the March 20th primary ballot the education consortium is again asking their taxpayers to agree to fork over yet another $446 or so per homeowner a year in property taxes.

And this time the teachers are money laundering a portion of their fat salaries into a political action committee aimed at forcing thru the vote, so as to, in turn, safeguard those very salaries and gold plated pensions (lifetime pensions of 85% of their salaries for their top 3 earning years.)

As usual, the teachers are spinning gloom and doom scenarios if their tax grab fails again -- crumbling buildings, extracurricular activity cuts, bigger class sizes -- the usual.

Never, of course is there ever a murmur of the possibility of these unionized employees of the taxpayers taking actual cuts in their fat salaries -- as was commonplace for teachers during the earlier economic depression of the 1930s and is common today in unionized private sector firms facing economic hardships.

Obama calls it "shared sacrifice". The teachers' own union was abuzz with excitement over Obama's election, but want none of this "shared sacrifice" talk.

Suburbs Need More Blacks to Avoid Boredom: "Interfaith" Housing Outfit

I've heard a lot of reasons put forth in defense of open housing and fair housing efforts, but Wilmette lefty "community organizer", Gail Schechter has come up with a true original.

She says that Chicago's Northern suburbs need more blacks because they will make the places "less boring."

In an op-ed from AOL's soon-to-be-defunct Evanston Patch, Schechter quotes an obscure ruling from an obscure New Jersey judge who said suburbs needed more minorities to avoid becoming "culturally dead, aside from being downright boring."

I really never thought of it that way, but maybe Miss Schechter and the Garden State magistrate have a point.

Schechter, the well-remunerated chief honcho of the Saul Alinsky-styled, "Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs," recently mounted an abortive campaign to get Winnetka to put in low-income housing. She argued that Winnetka has far too few blacks and cheaper housing in that upscale suburb would effect more blackness there.

But by an almost 3 to 1 margin, the residents there said: "nuts to that."

But just think how much more interesting Winnetka would be if it had the hefty black population quota that Schechter wants.

If boring Winnetka had the 11% black population that Miss Schechter deems necessary, the leafy suburb could start its own novelty basketball team along the lines of the Harlem Globetrotters.

They could call it the Winnetka Wizards and they could put on exhibition games where the agile black b-ballers would spin balls on their index fingers, do really wild and weird dribbling, slam dunk on every inside approach and generally run rings around the hapless, pasty-faced, all-white Lake Forest Generals.

That would certainly liven up an otherwise dreary Winnetka afternoon.

Or maybe, Miss Schecter envisions combating Winnetka ennui with something along the lines of the Jesse White Tumblers. They could call them the Bob Dold Balancers.

From Miss Schechter's newly enlarged black populations, the best black little kids could be enlisted to do handstands, tumble, run, jump and otherwise provide merriment to assembled throngs of heretofore bored Winnetkans.

For the artier set, of which there is no shortage in Winnetka, newly North suburban-settled Afro artistes could be enlisted to put on performances of Porgy and Bess, The Wiz and readings of Maya Angelou's head-scratching cryptic verse.

The possibilities are endless.

Yes, perhaps Schechter and her ACORN-styled activists are right in advocating more blacks as a badly needed tonic for the boredom that plagues quiet, leafy, crime-free Winnetka.

In fact, in Schechter's ideal, race-quota driven world, Winnetkans and other suburbanites could find themselves with nary a dull moment --- ever.

I had the misfortune of dating the above poster. Gary needs to get some help so he can have an accurate perception of reality. Seriously, he just kinda forgot he had a warrant for his arrest for contempt of court! I tried to help him after he allegedly got evicted from his apt - fed, clothed, bought him medicine - but it was all based on a lie. He even tried to con me into marrying him! He KNEW he had a warrant after convincing me that all was A-OK with the courts and was finally arrested for it on 8/8/11. How humiliating! No wonder he never even tried to get a job! An employer would have reported his whereabouts to the child support agency! He even lied about his birthday (most likely because he knows I do background checks on anyone I date). That's what I get for trying to help a so-called "friend." He can go play the "I'm a poor little victim" game someplace else!

New Trier HS Teachers Celebrate Recession With Hefty Pay Grab

(Editor's Note: The salary list was updated on 9/9/13 to reflect 2012 salaries. The New Trier teacher's $100k+ club went up to 256 from 219 over the past year.) 

Posted below are the 2012 salaries of teachers and administrators from the New Trier Township High School System.

These salaries reflect the 3.5% pay hike that the IEA teachers union squeezed from the taxpayers in  August 2011-- despite the fact that the average American worker -- if he has a job at all -- got a lessor pay raise on average.

The IEA is again saturating the Chicago airwaves with feel-good ads encouraging a "living wage" for teachers and a decent pension for their retirement years.

Judge for yourself if these salaries are living wages or outright opulent pay grabs. Keep in mind that the average SAT score for university School of Education students is 964, vastly lower than those of the general student population -- making teachers the poorest educated of all professionals.

Further consider that the powerful teachers unions have used their massive political clout to secure lifetime pensions which are 85% of the average of the teacher's 3 highest salary years. Only 41% of all American workers, the people who pay for these salaries and gold-plated pensions, receive any pension whatever.

The 2012 New Trier High School's teachers names and salaries posted below were garnered from the Family Taxpayers Foundation Teachers Salary database, which in turn was acquired via a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the Illinois State Teachers Retirement Fund which was compelled to release the data.

And keep in mind, despite the fact that a full 256 of the New Trier employees are pulling down more than six figures a year for their 9 month gigs (up from 219 last year), these are not even the highest paid in the state, being surpassed by those in the Lake Forest and Niles Township (Skokie, Morton Grove) high school payrolls.

City Colleges of Chicago Adopt Cook County Jail Smoking Policy

The Cook County jail banned smoking and the possession of tobacco by inmates back on August 1 2005 and the City Colleges of Chicago on this past January 12th belatedly followed their health conscious lead.

To squeals of glee from the comfortably salaried health police at Chicago's various megabucks cancer societies, lung associations as well as assorted other pecksniffs, do-gooders, buttinskies and nannies, something called the Chicago City Colleges District-wide Student Government Association voted in the ban.

One can only imagine who these SGA ass kissers and hall monitors were, but they can't be the brightest bulbs around -- after all -- they attend the Chicago City Colleges. And they certainly haven't the faintest conception of individual freedom or students rights.

So now it is a crime, in the eyes of the educational bureaucrats at Chicago City Colleges to so much as have a pack of Marlboros or a can of Skoal on one's person while on their premises -- just like at the Cook County jail, a venue whose hospitality has, no doubt, been enjoyed by more than a few of the City Collegians.

And, as of May 1st, some area public housing authorities will force their indigent residents to forgo tobacco use as well.

So, as of the March 1st effective date of the tobacco prohibition, a goodly number of the 120,000 scholars at Harold Washington, Olive Harvey, Kennedy-King, Richard J. Daley, Wilbur Wright and Malcolm X Colleges should feel right at home.
