Niles West Has The Highest Paid
Gym Teacher In the State of Illinois |
Posted below are all the salaries of the teachers at Niles West High School and Niles North High School.
(Editor's note: When this article was first released only the 2010 salaries were available to the public.
The list was updated in 2012 to reflect the latest available 2011 salaries and now on 9/9/13 has been updated once again to reflect the available data on their 2012 salaries.).
The
Family Taxpayers Network has just released the latest available 2012 salaries for these and all public school teachers throughout Illinois.
Niles Township CHSD 219 spends more lavishly on its teachers and administrators salaries than any high school district in the entire state, save for that of posh, stately Lake Forest. A full 208 of them pull down more than $100 grand a year for their part-time 9 month gigs.
On top of that, these big-union money grubbers get gold-plated health care coverage and platinum pension plans that will give them up to 85% of their salaries for the rest of their lives.
This puts these unionized government workers, who have learned to game the system, among the economic elite of America.
At the same time, senior citizen homeowners in Skokie, Lincolnwood and Morton Grove stand to lose their homes if they can't afford to pay the taxes to support these greedy fatcat teachers.
No wonder a nationwide revolt is spreading against the privileged status of these dissembling clowns.
Take a look at their salaries. Their names are listed in alphabetical order and you can find more detailed information on the government employee by clicking on the name.

That is the complete report of 2012 salaries of teachers at Niles West High School and Niles North High School, which enroll students from Skokie, Lincolnwood and Morton Grove, Illinois. The data was gleaned from the Family Taxpayer Foundation teachers' salaries database.
About 20 yrs ago, when my ex and I bought our 1st home, and I took a look at that first property tax bill, I was stunned. I had no idea that so much of the tax, over 50%, went to the school district. I thought police or fire, but no, schools. Almost purely administrative and pension costs too.
ReplyDeleteThat was 20 yrs ago. It's worse now I'm sure, and what kind of education have our kids been getting? We score close to the bottom in all scholastic areas, of the leading industrialized nations in the world, and we pay the most of them all for the "privilege."
My kids can read, and spell, and could when they were 5. I know because I taught them, not some unionized glorified babysitter. I care more and have a greater vested interest in them than some teacher and, fancy that, I don't get paid. But I am a proud homeschool mom.
Your posting on the bloated salaries paid to Chicago area teachers reminds me of an old Persian saying: "If the teacher be corrupt, the world will be corrupt."
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work sir!
If you are unhappy, run for School Board. They were all uncontested, but you all complain. Get out there!
ReplyDeleteI have managed, been a paid staffer on and volunteered on more than 100 political campaigns in my life. And right now, I haven't the energy to try and harness a largely apathetic electorate against the massive financial warchest and firepower of the union thugs who run the IL Education Assoc. and own many of the school boards, the State Legislators and the current Governor. I will, however consider voting with my feet and move to low-tax and union-free Texas or Indiana.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that on each of the several posts that I've published relating to the unionized teachers, I've been getting what appear to be orchestrated comments from professional PR people. It seems that the teachers union has paid people going around sending lengthy apologias - usually posted anonymously. They usually emanate from the same Evanston internet addresses and usually make lengthy rationales for these high salaries. Usually they go on about how dreadfully hard their 9 month jobs are and how exceedingly well educated they are.
ReplyDeleteThe powerful teachers unions have their own websites. They can post their paid screeds there, but not here. Moreover, they're spending literally hundreds of thousands of dollars for their periodic dissembling radio ads, as has been noted on this blog.
I welcome citizen comments, but not these paid teachers union mercenaries. They can find other forums and see if anyone might buy their claptrap.
You've clearly never been taught by some of the amazing individuals on this list. Complain about misuses of government funds all you want, but don't lambast tireless educators for making a decent living.
ReplyDeleteNo I never have been taught by a $250,000 a year gym teacher. He must be outstanding. I'll bet you must produce the very best dodgeball and kickball players in the world for that kind of cash. Glad he's making a "decent living." Niles West has, by the way, the highest paid gym teacher in the entire state of Illinois.
ReplyDeleteAre you big-labor teachers union money grubbers going to try to justify this as a "decent wage." ---- YIKES!!!
