Ever notice that most Irish folk anthems are about how they put up a good fight, but in the end got their asses kicked by the Brits? This one, however at least sang of a silver lining in that "he sowed the seeds of nationhood," which was realized 2 years later.
Comments invited, however anonymous commentors had better deal directly with the issues raised and avoid ad hominem drivel. As for Teachers' Union seminar writers -- forget about it.
